There are many reasons why and many ways in which your property might be lost or unknown and unaccounted for. The most common involve a “transition” with a change of address or name of the asset owner. In other instances a clerical error or other issue at the entity holding your funds causes mail delivery or other attempts to contact rightful owners to be unsuccessful. Then there are even those cases where there is just not a good faith effort to get assets back into the hands of rightful owners.
Every asset discovery and property recovery effort is unique and will depend on the specific type of asset, who and where the rightful owners are, which entity is holding your assets, where the property is being held and even how long the property has been dormant. The recovery process can also differ considerably depending on whether or not your property falls under the jurisdiction of escheatment laws that vary by state and by country and govern the rules for certain types of property claims.
The wide assortment of asset types recovered could include: bank accounts, investment accounts, stocks, bonds, mutual funds, dividend and interest payments, trust proceeds, unreturned deposits of all type, unused retainer fees, life insurance proceeds, property and casualty insurance claim proceeds, insurance premium refunds, escrow funds, mortgage insurance refunds, loan overpayments, contents of safe deposit boxes, bankruptcy claim proceeds, tax lien sale overbid proceeds, gift certificates, money orders, certified checks, certificates of deposit, other negotiable instruments, death benefits, pensions, federal and state tax refunds, vendor checks, wages, commissions, veterans benefits, royalties, etc. etc.
With all of the permutations and potential complexities, it is our goal to simplify for our clients and provide the most efficient recovery process possible. It is totally risk free with fees due only on success, and we do the bulk of the work, starting with our proprietary research methodology used to discover your missing assets, and management of all of the steps that follow in order to reunite you with your property.
Proprietary Research
The Monetizor team has expended thousands of hours researching and locating assets all throughout the world. Expertise in law, finance, operations and management consulting among other disciplines have helped us develop specialized research methods that are continually improved and perfected over time. The accumulated intelligence used in our research process, both broad and deep in scope, allows us to maximize your asset search and often can unearth claims not at all obvious or easily found. While not-obvious assets are a specialty, we work to discover all types of property for any person, trust, business or organizational entity.
Consultation & Engagement
If we have contacted you with a WooHoo! Notice it’s because we have completed our initial research and due diligence, and we believe you are the rightful owner of property not known to you or in your possession. You can get started right away or schedule a conversation with one of our principals to discuss the process and answer your questions. Engagement allows us to formally communicate with entities, organizations, agencies and any others as required to pursue recovery of your assets.
Information Gathering & Claim
This is the main stage that requires just a little bit of your time and involvement. First, we need to collect certain information and documentation to evidence and validate your right to reclaim your lost property. The actual requirements will vary on a case-by-case basis, as will the process. Most often, Monetizor will then put together a full package outlining your recovery request, and submit the claim to the appropriate entity, agency or authority. You might also be required to sign certain documents related to the claim at submission depending on who is holding your lost property – but that is it! The main thing to understand is that we do the bulk the work and manage the process so you can focus on your priorities and other matters most important to you.
Successful Property Recovery!
Your job from here is to sit back and wait to collect what is rightfully yours. Then when you do – woohoo – congrats and enjoy! It typically takes 2-6 months after submission, but recoveries have been realized in as little as 2 weeks or as long as 2 years. There may be occasions when some additional interaction is required to clarify and secure your claim. Our fee is only due if and when we are successful so there is absolutely no risk to you. We are afforded great satisfaction when reuniting out clients with their property, and we hope for the opportunity to similarly serve you.
